Arriving in Dushanbe and city tour
Arriving in Dushanbe airport transfer to the hotel, rest time until noontime. Afternoon meeting in the lobby for city tour.
The tour starts with “welcome lunch in restaurant.
Named for the Persian word for Monday, Dushanbe was at one point a small market village where traders would gather each Monday to sell their goods. During the Soviet era, the city grew to be the most important center of production in Tajikistan. Visit monument of Ismoili Somoni and Rudaki park and Highest Flag Stick park. Then visit in the Tajik National Museum, then visit the Mehrgon Bazaar and Victory Park – here view of Dushanbe from East hills.

Dushanbe and Hissar fortress
At morning (09-00) meeting with group for excursion to Hissar Fortress. Located outside of Dushanbe (27 km. to West from Dushanbe), the Hissar Fortress houses the remains of the palace of Ibragimbek Khan, belong of Bukhara Emirate. Its thick walls once guarded a pool, garden, and palace, while the fortress itself opposed a noisy market and caravanserai. What remains today is a portion of the wall and the gate towers, which are representative of the 18th and 19th century style, then drive back to Dushanbe. After lunch, visit Tajikistan Antique Museum. The Museum includes natural history exhibits, Tajik costumes, and a mock-up of a Tajik house. With highlights — biggest statue of “Relaxing Buddha” Ethnographic part of Museum showcases traditional Tajik crafts, including ceramics, embroidered fabrics, woodcarving and jewelry.

Day 3

Dushanbe – Iskander-Kul Lake
After breakfast drive through picturesque scenery of Varzob valley and Anzob pass-tunnel to Lake Iskander Kul (Alexander Great Lake)– the heart of the Fan Mountains. Upon arrival lunch in local cafe. After lunch stroll around the lake, visiting 50m high waterfall (located 2 km to the North from lake) and Snake Lake. Dinner in local cafe. O\N Cottages’

Iskander-Kul Lake – Penjikent
After breakfast drive along Fon-Dario valley via Aini city, to the Penjikent, ancient Sogdian and Zoroastrian town of Penjikent with its 5th century ruins, “Asian Pompeii”. After lunch in the local Teahouse visit on “Sarhazm” 4500 year old excavation and Museum of Rudaki name. Dinner in local restaurant.

Penjikent –Istaravshan- Khujant
Today drive over Shahristan pass (tunnel). In Istravshan (Kiropolis) city, excursion local bazaar, Mugh fortress, Kok-Gumbaz madssasah and Mugh-Teppa architecture complex. Visit local handicraft masters, blacksmith, knife and wood comb masters Drive to Khujant.

Day 6

Khujand
After breakfast in hotel Sightseeing tour in Khujand starts to visit Shaikh Maslihaddin mausoleum, minaret and mosque (13th century), Panjshanbe bazaar, remains on the old citadel rebuilt in 13 century, now restored, Pushkin square with Museum of Sugd Region and Kamoli Khujandi park. Afternoon visit monument of Somoni and Lenin, Istiklol complex Kohi-Arbob palace.

Khujant – drive to Dushanbe
After breakfast in the hotel non-stop drive to Dushanbe. Upon arrival free time. Evening meeting in lobby for drive to farewell dinner in Restaurant.
