Overview: Excursion route through the natural pearls of Tajikistan — the world famous lakes of the Fan Mountains.

We will see the pristine beauty of many colorful lakes, sharp snowy peaks, fragrant coniferous forests, deep gorges with turbulent mountain rivers. And then we will immerse ourselves in the scenery of a beautiful oriental fairy tale, in the atmosphere of the spicy East with medieval architecture, noisy bazaars, amazingly delicious cuisine and warm hospitality of local residents.

Day Itinerary
Day 1  Dushanbe

City tour. Visit the Tajik National Museum of Antiquities with Tajik pride – the biggest Buddha in Nirvana. Continue to explore the sightseeing of Dushanbe.  Tajik flagpole-the World tallest flagpole. The 165-meter flagpole entered the “Guinness Book of World Records” as the world’s tallest in August 2011, in time for the country’s 20th anniversary of independence. Having visited the flagpole, continue our excursion to the main square of Dushanbe. The Monument of Ismoili Somoni-the ancestor of Tajik Nation located on the main square. A 40-metre high monument built to the memory of Ismaili Saman-Khuda, founder of the Samanid dynasty in the X century. The base contains a permanent exhibition on the Samanids and is paved in granite slabs. The upper part of the statue is coated with gold.  After that visit Shohmansur market – one of the biggest markets of Dushanbe, also known as Zeleniy Bazaar (Green Market).The market reflects Dushanbe’s historical ties to local trade bazaar.

Day 2 Dushanbe – Iskanderkul lake

Today we will drive to the north of the Tajikistan, to the Iskanderkul Lake(Alexanders Lake), two and a hulf ours driving to the final destination, via good reconstructed road, Anzob pass (2900m), and through Anzob tunnel. Enjoy incredible view of Tajik mountains and rivers, several photo stop will let you fill Tajik nature.

Iskanderkul — the purl of Fann Mountains, enjoy the view of the purl of Fan Mountains – Iskanderkul Lake (Alexander Lake) (2195m). Excursion and hike to the waterfall (45 m) and Snake Lake. Short hike along the gorge.

Day 3 Iskanderkul – Allouddin lakes

In the morning from Iskanderkul drive to Allaudin lake. Allaudin lakes are a pearl of Fan mountains. The changing color scale of these lakes will not leave indifferent any person. The vegetation located round lakes supplements color of these pearls. Lakes are located at height of 2780 m in a mountain valley of the river Chapdara.

Day 4 Allouddin lakes – Artuch

Today we will drive to the  Artuch. The mountaineering, tourist base «Artuch» is located at an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level in the valley of the Artuch River. This is a unique area where outstanding historical and cultural monuments are located, where the ancient traditions of the East are combined with modern civilization, where the amazing rules of hospitality of the Tajik people have been preserved with its ancient customs, as well as nature, generously endowed this mountainous region with special beauty.

Day 5 Artuch – Marguzor lakes(7 lakes)

After having breakfast drive to Marguzor. On the western edge of the Fan Mountains in the valley of the river Shing are seven lakes, six of them dammed origin, besides the lake Hazorchashma. Lake called Marguzor, but each of the lakes has its own name: Nezhigon (other references Mizhgon), Soybean, Gushor, Nofin, Hurdak, Marguzor, Hazorchashma. They are also often referred to simply by the numbers, starting from the bottom of the lake: the first — Nezhigon second — Soy third Gushor etc. The difference in level between the upper and lower lake — 692 meters

Day 6 Marguzor lakes(7 lakes) – Penjikent – Jarteppa(Samarkand)

drive to Penjikent — a city in the Sughd province of Tajikistan on Zeravshan River, with a population of 33,000 (2000 census). It was once an ancient town in Sogdiana. The ruins of the old town are on the outskirts of the modern city. Visit Sarazm, Important Bird Area( UNESCO World Heritage) lies downstream of the city on the tugay-vegetated floodplain of the river. The archaeological site of the ruins of old Penjikent — a walled inter-city which stood 2500-years ago — was once a Sogdian trading city on the Silk Road. Today, only ruins are left owing to the fact that the main construction material was clay-bricks.
